Play Free-for-allHow we picked these browser FPS games
Lists like this go stale fast: browser shooters shut down, move domains or turn into download-only apps. So every pick here had to pass four checks in October 2026:
- Still playable in a browser. We opened each game's official site or its page on a major web game portal.
- A real multiplayer first-person shooter. Online matches against other people, not single-player only. Third-person build fighters and top-down shooters are left out, however good they are.
- Free to start. Cosmetics and currencies are fine; a paywall before your first match is not.
- Facts we can source. Modes, platforms and features come from the developer's site or the game's store or portal page. We don't quote player counts or ratings we can't check.
One more thing, up front: xFPS is our game. It's first because it's the one we know inside out, not because the others are bad. Each entry says where a game beats ours, and every one of them is a click away, so judge for yourself.
The 10 best free browser FPS games in 2026
1. xFPS: best for modern military-style gunplay and modes
xFPS plays like a modern military shooter that happens to live in a browser tab. You walk at 3.4 m/s and sprint at 6.0 m/s, double-tap sprint (Shift) for a short tactical sprint, drop into a half-second slide out of a sprint, and cancel that slide with a jump or by letting go of crouch to keep the momentum. Cancelled slides chain quickly, but the entry boost never stacks. Mouse input can be raw, with no smoothing, and FOV goes from 70 to 110.
The guns are tuned to fast, measured time-to-kill. Up close the AMAX kills in 200 ms, the AK-47 in 233 ms and the M4 Carbine in 217 ms, and each one pays for it at range in its own place. Snipers drop a target with one shot to the chest or head.
Modes are where it stands out. Quick Play Free-for-all and Team Deathmatch seat 12 players for 7 minutes; Search & Destroy and Cyber Attack are 6v6 round modes; then there's a 1v1 Duel, a 2v2 Gunfight with equal kits, a snipers-only Quickscope mode, Prop Hunt, round-based Zombies for up to four survivors and even first-person Football. You can play as a guest straight away; sign in for saved progress, clans and Ranked, which opens at level 20.
Where it falls short: xFPS is newer and smaller than Krunker or Shell Shockers. Quick Play fills empty seats with bots and real players replace them as they join, so off-peak lobbies lean on bots. There's no controller support yet: mouse and keyboard on desktop, touch on phones.

2. Krunker: best for movement and custom content
Krunker, published by FRVR, is the browser FPS most players already know. It's a fast, class-based arena shooter with a blocky voxel look, and its movement is the point: the official controls guide covers bunny hopping, strafing, crouch jumping and wall jumping for the Runner class. Around the public lobbies sits a competitive mode, custom games, a server browser, a level editor and a skins market where items are traded.
Where it beats xFPS: a far bigger and older community, and years of player-made maps and modes. Where it doesn't: the retro look and hop-heavy movement are a different feel from boots-on-the-ground military gunplay. Note that Krunker is no longer on the Steam store; you play it at krunker.io.
3. Shell Shockers: best for casual fun with friends
Shell Shockers by Blue Wizard Digital has been around since 2017, and you play as an egg with a gun. Its CrazyGames page lists four modes: Teams, Free For All, Captula the Spatula (hold the spatula for points) and King of the Coop (capture the coop). It's light, silly and very easy to drop into for one match.
Where it beats xFPS: it lists gamepad support, it's instantly readable for non-shooter players, and it has a long-established player base. Where it doesn't: if you want sights, recoil and a serious round mode, it isn't trying to be that game.
4. Bullet Force: best for big classic military lobbies
Bullet Force from Blayze Games launched in 2016 and is the most traditional military shooter here: up to 20 players, Team Deathmatch, Free for All, Conquest, VIP, hardcore variants and Gun Game, with killstreaks, perks, custom games and over 100 camos. Some modes can be played offline against bots.
Where it beats xFPS: bigger lobbies and a long track record. Where it doesn't: its browser version is listed as desktop-only (phones go through the app stores), and there's no round-based bomb mode or co-op zombies.
5. War Brokers: best for vehicles
War Brokers by Trebuchet Entertainment is a blocky team shooter for up to 15 players across nine large maps, and the twist is vehicles: APCs, tanks, helicopters and jets, with seats for gunners. Modes include Team Deathmatch, Package Retrieval, Missile Launch, Vehicle Escort, Battle Royale and a 4v4 Competitive mode, with 17 weapons. Everyone starts with the same guns and vehicles.
Where it beats xFPS: nobody else here gives you a helicopter. Where it doesn't: infantry gunplay is simpler and the art is low-poly by design.
6. Venge.io: best for hero abilities
Venge.io by OnRush Studio is an arena shooter with four heroes (Lilium, Shin, Echo and Kulu), each with different weapons, abilities and cards. Its Poki page lists Point, Blackcoin, Gun Game and Payload modes, plus private rooms you share with a link; the official site adds a map editor with community maps and a Windows client.
Where it beats xFPS: abilities and community maps. Where it doesn't: fewer guns, and no round-based modes like Search & Destroy.
7. Kour.io: best for a quick fix on any device
Kour.io by LXV is a 2024 .io shooter that runs in desktop, phone and tablet browsers. Its CrazyGames page lists Free For All, Team Deathmatch, Gun Game, Hardpoint and movement modes such as ParKour and KourSurf, five maps, characters with different weapons and health, a dash on E, clans and a map editor.
Where it beats xFPS: movement-only modes and a very light, instant feel. Where it doesn't: a smaller map pool and no tactical round mode.
8. Hazmob FPS: best for loadout grinders
Hazmob FPS came to the browser in 2024 after launching on phones. It lists more than 55 customizable weapons with scopes and skins, unlocks as you level, and modes including Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, Capture the Flag, Domination, Free for All, Elimination and Gun Race across eight maps.
Where it beats xFPS: a bigger gun list and more unlock grind if you like that. Where it doesn't: the browser version is listed as desktop-only, and clothing that boosts character stats won't suit everyone.
9. Deadshot.io: best for a no-frills start
Deadshot.io describes itself as a casual first-person shooter that's easily accessible: grab your friends, join a lobby and play. That simplicity is the appeal. We keep this entry short on purpose: we couldn't find developer-published details on its modes and weapons to quote, so load it and judge the feel yourself.
10. Voxiom.io: best for building and destruction
Voxiom.io is a voxel shooter with destructible maps. Its modes are Battle Royale, Capture the Gems, Survival and Free For All, with mining, crafting and weapon tiers from Common to Legendary, and it runs in desktop, phone and tablet browsers.
Where it beats xFPS: you can dig through the map. Where it doesn't: it's a crafting shooter first, so pure gunfights are rarer.

Browser FPS games for low-end PCs and Chromebooks
On a weak laptop, art style and settings matter more than anything else. xFPS has four graphics tiers: Quality, Balanced, Performance and a Very low tier made for the machines that still stutter on Performance, such as 2-core Chromebooks. Very low renders fewer pixels, drops filtering and skips posing soldiers you can't see. Map geometry, hitboxes and what players can see of each other stay identical on every tier, so a low setting never hides an enemy.
Leave graphics on Auto and xFPS steps down one tier on its own after about ten seconds of sustained heavy lag in a match. Phones and tablets start on Performance (Very low with 3 GB of memory or less), and 2-core computers with 4 GB or less start on Very low.
Outside xFPS, blocky low-poly shooters like Krunker, Shell Shockers and War Brokers are the natural candidates. We can't promise frame rates on your hardware, but a few habits help in any browser game: close other tabs, plug a laptop in, and make sure hardware acceleration is on in your browser settings. On a Chromebook, our guide to FPS games for Chromebook walks through the settings and controls step by step.

Browser FPS games to play with friends
Almost every game here has some way to play together; the difference is how much control you get. In xFPS, send an invite link from Home to form a party of up to six and queue together, or create a custom match, pick the mode, map and rules, and keep it invite-only or list it publicly. Custom rooms are where group modes shine: Prop Hunt in the browser needs at least two humans, and round-based Zombies takes up to four survivors.
Elsewhere: Venge.io has private rooms shared by link, Bullet Force has detailed custom games, Krunker has custom games and a server browser, and War Brokers has a 4v4 Competitive mode you can play with friends.
Browser FPS games with controller support
This is the weak spot of the whole genre. Of the games we checked, Shell Shockers is the one that lists gamepad support on its CrazyGames page. The others' pages we read list keyboard and mouse (and touch on phones) and say nothing about controllers. xFPS doesn't support controllers today either. If you play on a gamepad, start with Shell Shockers and check any other game's controls page before you invest time in it.
Browser FPS games on mobile
xFPS has full touch controls on phones and tablets: a left joystick to move, the right side of the screen to look, and you can drag on the fire button to track a target while shooting. Kour.io, War Brokers, Venge.io and Voxiom.io also list phone and tablet browser play. Bullet Force and Hazmob list their browser versions as desktop-only and send phone players to their apps instead.
Browser FPS games like Valorant: tactical, round-based picks
No browser game is a full hero-tactical shooter, but a few give you the one-life, round-by-round tension. xFPS Search & Destroy is 6v6 with one life per round: attackers plant at A or B, defenders defuse, sides switch every round and the first team to six round wins takes it. Cyber Attack adds revives and a single EMP both teams fight over. Hazmob also lists a Search and Destroy mode, Krunker has a competitive mode, and Venge.io's heroes are the closest thing here to character abilities.
Modern military-style shooters in the browser
If you want sprint, slide, aim down sights and recognizable rifles, the field narrows to xFPS, Bullet Force and Hazmob. Bullet Force leans on killstreaks and big lobbies, Hazmob on loadout progression, and xFPS on movement and gun feel plus small-scale modes: a 1v1 Duel or 2v2 Gunfight is the fastest way to find out whether you like its time-to-kill.

Can you play FPS games online free with no download?
Yes. Modern browsers can run 3D shooters through WebGL, and every game on this list starts in a tab. A few practical notes:
- Click the game first. Browsers only let a page capture your mouse after you click, and you may need to click again after alt-tabbing or opening a menu.
- Use an up-to-date browser with WebGL enabled. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all work for most games. On a Mac, see free FPS games for Mac for browser and trackpad tips.
- Guest play is common, saved progress is not. In xFPS, guest progress stays on that device; sign in to keep it across browsers, join clans and play Ranked.
- Optional clients exist. Some games, such as Venge.io, also offer a desktop client, but you never need it to play.

Best browser FPS games: FAQ
What is the best browser FPS game in 2026?
It depends on what you want. For modern military-style gunplay with a lot of modes, we put xFPS first (it is our game, so try it and judge). For movement and the biggest custom-content scene, Krunker is the long-running favorite. For pure silly fun, Shell Shockers; for vehicles, War Brokers.
Are there FPS games online, free, with no download?
Yes. Every game on this list runs in a normal browser tab through WebGL and is free to start. You need an up-to-date browser, a mouse and keyboard (or a touchscreen for the games that support phones), and a click on the game so it can capture your mouse.
What browser FPS games work on a low-end PC or Chromebook?
Pick a game with simple art or real low settings. xFPS has a Very low graphics tier built for 2-core Chromebooks, and its Auto setting steps down by itself if your frames stay slow. Simple, blocky shooters such as Krunker, Shell Shockers and War Brokers are also good candidates.
Which browser FPS games have controller support?
Of the games we checked, Shell Shockers lists gamepad support on its CrazyGames page. Most browser shooters, xFPS included, are built for mouse and keyboard, with touch controls on phones. If controller play matters, check the game's own controls page before you commit.
What browser FPS games can I play with friends?
Most of them. xFPS lets you form a party of up to six with an invite link and host custom matches; Venge.io and Bullet Force have private rooms and custom games; Krunker has custom games and a server browser; War Brokers has a 4v4 Competitive mode for friends.
Are there browser FPS games like Krunker?
Yes. Kour.io and Venge.io are the closest in pace and feel, Deadshot.io keeps things simple and quick, and xFPS trades Krunker's hopping for slides and tactical sprint. We compare each one with Krunker in our games like Krunker guide.
